Is it possible to process sensitive social issues positively? Is it necessary to show these generally invisible stories hidden from the majority society? According to some estimates there are about 100,000 people living with autism in Hungary. Are they really invisible? The phenomenon of autism is especially unique and involves numerous paradoxical situations. People living with autism are special, gifted and original. They are self-revealing, honest and accepting. Do they ask for too much? Integration? I do not think so. Acceptance and tolerance? Possible. They view the world very differently. This is perceptual thinking. Are they “different” from typical people? Are there any boundaries?
The aim of „TWOHEADS project” is to generate new points of view on the phenomenon. There should be a common platform created between people with a creative attitude and people living with autism in order to have positive cooperation that promotes new values. The tools of visual communication are strongly linked to the processing of the topic and to exposing differences in perception. As a first step MAA commissioned photographer Máté Bartha to present this exciting world.
